Please read the following from NOHA.

On December 8, 2021, the Sudbury District Public Health Unit came out with additional
restrictions due to the rise of COVID-19 cases in the area.

Specifically, as it relates to Team sports such as hockey, the following applies:

- Team sports or games that may result in personal contact must not be practiced or
played at the facility, indoors or outdoors, unless the sport or game has been modified
to avoid personal contact. Limited exceptions apply to professional and elite sport
leagues or associations. School-related extra-curricular team sports or games are
subject to separate measures previously communicated.

Additional information was received this afternoon from the City of Greater Sudbury, which has
-Games / Scrimmages / amateur and recreational sports leagues may be played but
associations and groups MUST modify on ice activities to ensure there is NO
PHYSICAL CONTACT between participants
Based on the above, all games within the Sudbury District Public Health Unit are
cancelled effective 12:01 a.m. on December 11, until the NOHA provides further direction.
All Officials’ assignments within the Health Unit are cancelled.

We have confirmed that we can utilize last season’s modified rules for game play, however we
also believe that there needs to be an education/re-education on those rules prior to games taking
place. We will provide to Associations, Coaches and Officials our plans for this education on

Yours truly,
Sue Shepherdson
NOHA President
